Dr. Laurence Wormald Head of Research SunGard APT
Dr. Laurence Wormald is head of research at SunGard APT. In this role, Dr.Wormald is responsible for overseeing the development of new and innovative solutions for APT's diverse customer base. He is also chair of the City Associates Board at the Centre for Computational Finance and Economic Agents at the University of Essex, as well as having held a number of risk director and research director positions at other financial modeling firms. Prior to joining APT, Dr. Wormald was chief risk officer at a Deutsche Bank Global Markets business unit. Dr. Wormald has also acted as a consultant to various financial and government institutions, including the Monetary Analysis Area at the Bank of England and the Research Directorate-General at the ECB. He holds a masters degree in physics from Cambridge and a PhD in theoretical physics from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
